Discount Cards
Here's how we are doing on Discount Cards sales.
Remember the deadline to turn in money and all unsold cards to Mrs. Carol Weideman is Monday April 1, 2019.
Total Cards Sold by Scout
How it Works
Discount cards are one of the most profitable fundraisers for our troop — 50% of the profits from the discount card sales goes directly to us and is divided between Troop 380 and each Scout’s account. And, if we sell over 400 cards as a Troop, that 50% turns in to 60%! That’s more money for our Troop and for you individually to put towards camping, summer camps, and other Scout outings.
Where the Money from Each Card Goes
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to earn money in your Scout account, help Troop 380, and have fun, too!
“Questions?
If you have any questions about the discount cards fundraiser, or you need more cards before the next meeting contact Mrs. Carol Weideman at (214) 384-7527.”
Step 1:
Get Your Discount Cards
If you attended the meeting on Monday, February 4, you received 10 discount cards, or more if you requested them. If you did not attend that meeting, you can pick up your discount cards during any meeting or contact Mrs. Carol Weideman at (214) 384-7527.
You can only pick up 10 discount cards at a time. We have this limit in place because the discount cards are like money. Any cards not turned in by the end of the selling period are considered sold. That means the money for those cards — $10 per card — is the responsibility of the Scout, even if those cards are lost. So please be careful with your cards!
Step 2:
Sell Sell Sell!
Get out and sell those discount cards! The selling period for discount cards starts February 4 and ends April 1, 2019. All unsold cards and money are due by Monday, April 1 by the end of the meeting.
Not sure how to get started selling? Check out these selling reminders and tips!
Selling Reminders
Always wear your BSA field uniform (Field Uniform) when selling.
Younger scouts are encouraged to have a parent or guardian accompany them when selling.
We accept cash or checks. Checks must be made payable to BSA Troop 380.
Discount cards are valid now through March 15, 2020.
Selling Tips
Before you start selling, know what’s on the discount card. The more you know, the more you can tell customers about the great deals and discounts on the card!
Consider taking this enlarged version of the card with you when selling. It can help customers see what’s on the card more easily.
Contact businesses on the card to see if you can sell discount cards at their businesses. Make sure you mention the deal or discount on the card when selling at those locations.
Prize Drawing
If money for our Troop and in your Scout account aren’t enough incentive, then you’ll love the opportunities you have to win fun prizes based on how many cards you sell!
Here’s how it works:
If you sell 10 cards by February 26, you’ll get TWO entries in the drawing.
For every 3 cards you sell over 10, you get ONE additional entry.
Don’t miss out — get selling so you can get more entries in the prize drawing!
Step 3:
Turn in Your Money — and Get More Discount Cards!
Once you have sold your 10 discount cards, turn them in at the next meeting. Don’t forget to pick up more cards! The more you sell, the more money for YOU and our Troop. Plus, you’ll increase your chances to win prizes!
When you need more cards, pick them up at a Monday meeting or contact Mrs. Carol Weideman at (214) 384-7527.
