Troop 380 will be taking a trip to Little Rock, Arkansas, to the Inland Maritime Museum (AIMM), which is home to the USS Razorback Submarine (SS 394) and the USS Hoga (YT 146), and is located in Riverfront Park along the shore of the Arkansas River. The USS Razorback, a World War II Submarine, was built in September 1943 and commissioned on April 3, 1944. She is the longest serving combat front line submarine existing in the world today, and has been commissioned by two different countries for 56 years of active duty.
We will explore the museum and get a personalized, guided tour of the submarine as well as other activities. Troop 380 will see parts of the submarine normally closed to the public and they will sleep in refurbished bunks in the tight crew’s quarters, experiencing the close quarters, sights, sounds, smells and lack of privacy endured by the sailors who once lived aboard the submarine. Evening activities can include educational programs or just watching a movie in the museum, while enjoying Pizza for dinner.
Sunday morning, we will have donuts for breakfast, and head out towards home, but there is still adventure ahead. We will be stopping at Craters of Diamond, State Park the only place in the world where you can search for real diamonds in their original volcanic source and if you find one you can keep it.

Your Outing Cost Includes Lunch on Sunday!
A visit to Ft Sill Military Museum is planned. Also a food stop at Meers Store and Restaurant for a "Seismic Meersburger" if you dare, mighty plateful of burger by any standard, in a tiny town far from anywhere. Building exterior is one big photo-op. Hungry, just order fried green tomatoes, burgers, cheese fries, cobblers and ice cream!!!
Meers, once a bustling town of miners seeking gold in the Wichita Mountains. The town’s population has dwindled from the gold rush peak of 500 down to the present residents: one family of six people, eight cats and a dog. All that remains of the town now is a world renowned family restaurant also called Meers, home of the "Best Burger in Oklahoma". Famous for their Meersburger, a 7" diameter burger made exclusively from prize winning Texas Longhorn beef raised on the family's own ranch. Beef that is actually lower in cholesterol than chicken!
